Lions’ DL play from Jets game
Pro Football Focus' Matt Claassen took a look back at Friday's game between the Detroit Lions and New York Jets, and he highlighted three performances of note for each team. For the Lions, the focus was largely on the play of the offensive and defensive lines.
On the defensive line, the story was really the play of Willie Young. He received a +4.8 grade thanks to 3 solo tackles, 2 quarterback hurries and 1 batted down pass. Fellow defensive ends Devin Taylor and Ronnell Lewis also had a solid game with a sack each, as did defensive tackle Jimmy Saddler-McQueen.
Saddler-McQueen wasn't the only defensive tackle who excelled on Friday. According to PFF, Ogemdi Nwagbuo and Andre Fluellen each had four pressures, and Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley both received solid grades (+0.9 for Suh and +1.4 for Fairley) despite not getting a ton of playing time.comments powered by Disqus
